Description

Dorsun T Eye Drops 5 ml, manufactured by Sunways India, is a combination medication used to treat high pressure in the eye, specifically in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is designed to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) to prevent damage to the optic nerve, which can lead to vision loss. Each 5 ml bottle of Dorsun T contains a combination of two active ingredients:
Dorzolamide Hydrochloride USP (2.0% w/v): A carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that reduces the production of aqueous humor (fluid) in the eye.
Timolol Maleate IP (0.5% w/v): A non-selective beta-blocker that also works by reducing the production of fluid in the eye.
Preservative: Benzalkonium chloride IP (0.01% w/v).
Mechanism of Action
Dorsun T works by decreasing the secretion of aqueous humor by the ciliary body in the eye, providing a more potent reduction in intraocular pressure than either component used alone.
