Description
PAN 40MG INJ is a prescription medication containing Pantoprazole (40mg), a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid. It is administered via intravenous (IV) injection by a healthcare professional to treat severe acid-related conditions, including GERD, erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Active Ingredient: Pantoprazole 40mg.
Form: Powder for injection (usually reconstituted with 10ml saline).
Mechanism: Inhibits the
-ATPase enzyme system in the stomach, blocking final acid production.
Uses: Treatment of severe acid reflux (GERD), gastric/duodenal ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to prevent stress ulcers in critically ill patients and before anesthesia to prevent aspiration-related complications.
Administration: Intravenous (IV) injection or infusion by a healthcare professional.
Common Side Effects: Headache, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and pain or redness at the injection site.
