Description
Ondem 2mg/1ml injection (manufactured by Alkem Laboratories) is an antiemetic medication containing Ondansetron, used to prevent and treat severe nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or post-operative surgery. It acts by blocking serotonin (
receptors) in the brain and nerves that trigger vomiting. Composition: Each ml contains 2mg Ondansetron (commonly available as 2ml ampoules/vials, i.e., 4mg/2ml).
Administration: Given by a healthcare professional via intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection.
Onset: Starts working within 30 minutes.
Common Side Effects: Headache, constipation, dizziness, and flushing.
Precautions: Use caution with liver disease, heart problems, or electrolyte imbalances.
